Rabbit Advocacy - Gumtree selling unweaned rabbits

One of our volunteers Priya has had some success in bringing about positive change for rabbits. Priya loves to work in rabbit advocacy as well as rescue. 

We have had a huge concern that Gumtree has been allowing unweaned rabbits to be sold or given away on their site. Priya approached them by phone and email putting forward the argument that taking baby rabbits away from their mother's milk and care before 8 weeks was a cruel practice.

The managers listened! Gumtree has now made it a rule that rabbits can't be traded under 8 weeks of age!

Chai & Princess are adorable baby rabbits that have been raised in a family home in our Foster Carer Program. They are house trained to use a litter tray. Our adoption package includes desexing, microchip, vaccination. All rabbits have a vet health and teeth check. We have baby rabbits for adoption in Kingscliff NSW near Tweed Heads. They come with a free desexing package including vaccination, microchip, parasite treatment, vet health check and ear tattoo. We ask a donation of your own choice. Visit them at our Foster Carer's home. Fill in our online adoption application form on this link. We will then send you photos of the babies and make an appointment for you to visit to see the baby rabbits and choose the ones you would like to have in your own home.

Due to the release of the new strain of calicivirus by the government we are adopting to homes where the rabbits will live inside the home.

BULLY HAS A STORY TO TELL

BULLY has a story or two to tell. First let us say he is looking for a loving home. 

Bullies mother was rescued from a Tweed Heads building site. We had 24 hours to catch his mother and secure the nest of babies. Thanks to the help of our Foster Carers in Tweed Heads obtaining a rabbit trap and waiting revisiting the site patiently Bully, his mummy bunny and all the baby bunnies were saved. He is now ready to go to a home of his own with his little sister NUMPTY.

Bunnies are Desexed vaccinated microchipped vet checked good teeth healthy. They are priceless so we simply ask a donation of your choice to help us with our rabbit rescue, rehabilitation & Rehoming charity. 

TINY BABY RABBITS FOR ADOPTION IN SYDNEY

CINNAMON & PEPPER located in Sydney in Foster Care with Jen. These baby bunnies have been well handled by their rescuer and are very tame and friendly. They are boy and girl. We have lop rabbits, up-eared rabbits, in fact we have so many types of rabbit there is a good variety for folk to pick from for their new adopted rabbit pet.  Rabbits can be delivered to new homes by pet transport.

We use Coates Pet Transport and dog movers.  By adopting a rabbit you get added value such as a vaccinated and desexed rabbit that has been wormed and is lice free as well as vet checked!

You probably saw it on our facebook page but did you know we found 2 baby rabbits in our roadside mailbox last week? Someone left them there in the night and we didn't find them until we went for the mail the afternoon of the next day. They were stuffed into the mailbox in a birdcage that was crushed to fit in.

They are a little girl and a little boy bunny. They are extremely tame and friendly and would make wonderful pets. Please phone 0416 062 947 if you think you could give them a place in your home and heart.
